Troop Elections occur twice a year. Coming up the elections will be in TWO STAGES. First Stage -- Electing the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and the Patrol Leaders. That will occur February 11. All Scouts must click HERE to learn how we elect the SPL and Patrol Leaders. Second Stage -- Name the PLC and Electing Order of the Arrow Candidates. After the SPL is elected and after he knows who his Patrol Leaders are, the SPL will accept self-nominations from all Scouts. The PLC is the SPL's cabinet, his leadership team. The SPL will work with the Scoutmaster's coaching in filling these roles. The SPL makes the final call. Scouts fulfilling a position of responsibility are relied upon to perform important duties for the next six months. The Term begins March 1. We generally overlap a bit for transition. At the meeting on February 19, the SPL will announce his PLC. The Leadership Kick-off for this PLC will be March 1 as indicated on the troop calendar. Also on February 19 all Scouts will vote for candidates to the Scouting's National Honor Society -- the Order of the Arrow. ALL Scouts may VOTE. ALL Scouts may vote for ANY OR ALL of the Troop's candidates that are put forward. Voting results will be kept secret until the elected ones are "tapped out" at the SPRING CAMPOREE Campfire Ceremony. Listen at the meetings as to what makes Scouts eligible for this high honor.
