Responsibility
All Scout Leaders are expected to:
- Set a good example
- Enthusiastically wear the
Scout uniform correctly
- Live by the Scout Oath and Law
- Show Scout Spirit
The
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL)
- Appointed by the Senior Patrol
Leader
- Second highest junior leader in
the Troop, Acts as SPL when the SPL is absent.
- Provides leadership to other junior leaders.
- During Troop meetings,
discreetly help assure that all Scouts are listening and paying attention
while SPL is talking or announcements are being made.
- Must be a least First Class
rank and have approval of the Scoutmaster before being appointed.
- Attends and helps the SPL lead
meetings, activities, and outings
- Runs the Troop activities in
the absence of the SPL
- Helps train and supervise
Troop Scribe, Quartermaster, Instructor(s), librarian, Historian(s), and
Chaplain Aide.
- Serves as a member of the
Patrol Leaders’ Council
- By accepting appointment to the
position, the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader makes a commitment to attend
as many as possible, if not all, meetings, events, and outings.
